Facility Maintenance Engineer

The Facility Maintenance Engineer supervises direct reports, schedules and oversees repairs, maintain records; research and order parts; and manage light construction projects.
This position also works closely with outside contractors and other Plastipak Leaders.
This position uses the knowledge of maintenance scheduling software, AutoCAD, Excel and Word.
Areas of duties include facility and grounds, HVAC, janitorial services, and fire systems.
Responsibilities:
Reporting, planning and maintaining facility food safety records with authority to initiate action.
Directs the cleaning and maintenance of the janitorial services.
Managing construction repairs and maintenance on electrical equipment, plumbing systems, HVAC equipment, and all other mechanical systems required to maintain the structures of the main site and outside warehouses.
Oversees the facility maintenance of the main plant and warehouse fire systems.
Scheduling for the facility maintenance team's training and compliance for the Engineering group.
Research, order, and schedule work orders as needed through SAP or maintenance software.
Directs the repairs and replacement of defective parts.
Directs the installation of processes and equipment.
Maintains AutoCAD facility drawings.
Helps coordinate snow removal.
Inspection and Maintenance of shop tools and hand tools, such as a drill press, grinder, ladders, saws, portable drills, etc.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree (A.
A.
) in relevant field of study or technical school or related experience and/or training.
Excellent computer and typing skills with experience with SAP, AutoCAD, Word, and Excel High level of attention to detail in cleaning, record keeping and following up.
Experience in construction, maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, or welding in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, working drawings, and procedure manuals.
Knowledge of mathematical concepts such as algebra and the fundamentals of geometry to practical situations.
Ability to follow and carry out instructions provided in written, spoken, or diagram form.
Proven success in decision making and problems solving.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Efficient time management skills involving both individual initiative and teamwork.
Ability to lift 50 lb weights, travel up and down stairs and ladders, work at heights in lift equipment or on the roof.
Willingness to learn and train for new skill sets.
